Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymized string (a hash) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible publicly with your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract this data from images on the site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies—these last for one year for convenience.
If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies—this cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close the browser.
When you log in, we’ll set cookies to save your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen options cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me,” login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is stored that contains no personal data, only the post ID—it expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content behaves as if the visitor visited the other website.
These sites may collect data, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction, including if you’re logged in to that site.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and metadata are kept indefinitely.
For registered users, we store the personal data in their profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except username). Admins can also view and edit that information.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of your personal data, including any data provided. You can also request we erase any personal data we hold—this excludes data we are required to retain for legal or security reasons.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
